Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce
Hosted by Bank of America, Boston Public Schools (BPS), Boston Plan for Excellence (BPE), the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and City of Boston, the Principal Partners event generates support for the city’s public schools. On Principal Partners Day, leaders from the corporate, public, and nonprofit sectors partner with BPS principals as they lead their schools through the activities of a regular school day. Business and community leaders get an unparalleled opportunity to experience Boston and its public schools from an insider’s perspective. They spend a half day in the life of a school, with all of the players and dynamics that entails, gaining a new understanding of school administration. Business leaders, principals, and City officials convene for lunch to share their experiences and explore the many additional opportunities to support the city’s schools and engage with school leaders and students. Since re-launching in 2025, Principal Partners has convened 164 Partners who visited 158 School Principals.
The Boston Globe column, “Boston Chamber teams up with BPS to allow business leaders to shadow school principals,” features the relaunch of Principal Partners with Chamber CEO Jim Rooney and BPS Superintendent Mary Skipper.

Educators and the business community are committed to supporting students with building financial literacy skills before they graduate high school. Working together, the Chamber Foundation and Boston Public Schools are developing a shared vision for financial literacy coursework that incorporates experiential learning opportunities for students to connect with business and financial professionals.
